‘Zelda: Breath of the Wild’ Tips & Guides: How To Tame A Wild Horse; Epona From ‘Ocarina of Time’ Secret Revealed
The much awaited Nintendo Switch and Wii U game, "Zelda: Breath of the Wild," is finally available for purchase. And some guides, particularly for how to tame wild horses and name them, are also out for players having trouble finding a steed.
The first thing that players must do is to locate the wild horses in the fields of "Zelda: Breath of the Wild," according to IGN. There are actually two ways on how to mount a wild horse and tame them: sneaking and paragliding. The former is the safest method while the latter is a bit hard to pull off as it can get quite taxing.
In the "Zelda: Breath of the Wild" guide, players must crouch and slowly make their way behind any of the wild horses in the field. Once everything worked smoothly, fans will have to mount the horse from the back and tap the "soothe" button continuously to tame one. Players need to do this process as necessary before Link's stamina runs out.
It should be noted that horses may still try to reject the player's control in "Zelda: Breath of the Wild." To prevent this from happening, fans will need to find the nearest stable and register the wild horse immediately. This could also be used to give the wild horse a name.
Meanwhile, the epic steed that Link used in the past franchise installment "Ocarina of Time," named Epona, is also available in the game. However, in order to get Epona in "Zelda: Breath of the Wild," fans must first have a Smash Link Amiibo, VG247 reported. This steed will receive maxed strength, speed, stamina, bond and a gentle temperament when acquired.
Those who'd like to get Epona in "Zelda: Breath of the Wild" must make sure that the Nintendo Switch and Wii U Amiibo support is turned on. After doing so, the user may then scan the Amiibo using the devices to receive the horse of legend. There are some notes that fans must keep in mind, however, before they rush in with this secret.
The scan is a one time deal for Epona in "Zelda: Breath of the Wild." It means that when the horse dies, there is no way to get it again. So after it respawns, players must immediately head over to the nearest stable and register the horse.
