According to Metro, after "The Walking Dead" season 7 finale, which delivers the audiences a massive fight break out in Alexandria, the series is set to ramp up the pressure as all the distinct camps crash in all-out-war. Nevertheless, an interview with the show's character; Rick, he stated that "The Walking Dead" season 8 might show the viewers that his priorities will take a shift to taking down Negan no matter what it'll cost. The said move could even threaten his own life, as well as Michonne, Judith and Carl.

As a matter of fact, during Scott Gimple's interview with TV Line; he stated that "to give his people and other people the life that they should live, where the world belongs to all of them and not just one person. A real life." Gimple further added that this is the only choice that Rick has and that he is eager to face the damages.

Nevertheless, Gimple clarified that this doesn't mean that Rick wouldn't be affected if any of his loved ones will be killed. "It isn't that he's willing to shake them off if they were to occur or immediately rationalize them away, but he understands the enormity of what they are doing and the enormity of the possible cost," Gimple further stated.

Additionally, a news outlet has stated that "The Walking Dead" season 8 is certainly going to take a dramatic blow to stop Negan's oppressiveness. But then, this might mean that either Rick or one of his loved ones might sacrifice. Either way, the viewers would want to see Michonne's bad side.
