One of the stars of Pretty Little Liars revealed some new details about what fans can expect when season 4 picks up in January.

Janel Parrish, who plays Mona Vanderwaal on the series, told E!Online in a Thursday report that she'll be hanging around a surprising character in the coming episodes.

"The person that she starts hanging out with is kind of a shocker in her storyline but she'll start hanging out with somebody and maybe make a love connection that fans will be surprised about," Parrish revealed.

Parrish said that Mona would definitely be getting a boyfriend and it will be someone the fans will love, even if it's a shocking choice for her.

Parrish added that one of the storylines she's most excited about going forward is the idea of Alison (Sasha Pietrese) being alive, which was revealed in the summer finale.

"I'm very excited for them to find out more about Alison and why she's been hiding and all these things because we're going to dig deeper into that storyline as soon as we return," Parrish said.

Before the season continues on its regular schedule in January, the series will air a special Halloween episode in October. Parrish said that the Halloween special would be filled with shocking moments.

"It's just going to get crazier and crazier, as the pieces of the puzzle start coming together," Parrish said. "'A' is going to be even more of a mastermind than anybody ever imagined so yeah, it's going to get crazier."
