'Supernatural' Season 9 Spoilers: Could Tahmoh Penikett Return? When Will Dean Reveal Sam's Possession? VIDEO
Dean Winchester is keeping a major secret on Supernatural and it's beginning to fray around the edges.
The elder Winchester brother (Jensen Ackles) has neglected to tell his brother (Jared Padalecki) that the angel Ezekiel is currently using his body as his own personal meat suit. While healing Sam, Ezekiel is keeping a low profile but he has popped out on occasion, most notably to save both Castiel (Misha Collins) and Charlie (Felicia Day).
Although Castiel vouched for that character of his fellow angel at the beginning of the season, Ezekiel's insistence that Cas leaves the bunker and the sheer fact that he possesses someone is enough to make fans wary of his true intentions.
"I think he seems like a pretty honorable guy, to me," said executive producer Jeremy Carver, according to the Huffington Post. "I think Ezekiel is a pretty interesting character, and I don't see any reason not to trust his intentions."
It is not currently known when Ezekiel will be finished healing Sam but, when he is, where will he go? Could Tahmoh Penikett return as the angel's original vessel?
"We're living in a world where [Zeke] is inside Sam right now, so it's hard to really address anything beyond that, but I will say that as an actor and as a character he was fantastic," Carver told Entertainment Weekly.
Now that Sam has picked up on the fact that Dean referred to him as "Zeke," perhaps he will soon manage to uncover the truth. It has been revealed that Dean will leave Sam behind when he goes to help Cas in "Heaven Can't Wait" so that Ezekiel won't be in danger. However, it is unknown whether or not Sam will know this is why he is staying at the bunker.
Supernatural airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on the CW.
