Pretty Little Liars fans will be one step closer to solving the mystery of Alison's (Sasha Pieterse) when the show returns in January 2014.

Pretty Little Liars executive producer Oliver Goldstick spoke with E!Online recently about how the series will continue the mystery behind Alison's disappearance.

"There's a fantastic piece of evidence, which you saw that in the summer finale that was taken from A's lair, that will crack open Alison's disappearance, what happened to her that summer," Goldstick explained. "It will absolutely crack it open, so that's really what you guys can look forward to as far as the clues as to what happened that summer, the attempt on her life, and all that other good stuff."

Pieterse will be appearing as Alison in the third episode of season 4B. Goldstick also said that Ezra (Ian Harding), who was revealed to be "A" in the summer finale, will be "really wicked" in season 4B.

As for the complicated romance that is Ezra and Aria (Lucy Hale), the shock that the former is "A" certainly complicates matters even more. However, there may still be hope for the couple.

"I'll just say never say never, because that's the way we like to put it," Goldstick teased when asked about Ezra and Aria as a couple. "Never say never. That's all I'll tell you. There's always a possibility in our series, and there can be a great twist, but never say never."

Pretty Little Liars returns for season 4B on Tuesday, Jan. 7 at 8 p.m. on ABC Family.
