'Person of Interest' Spoilers 2013: Who Kills Simmons as Revenge for Shocking Death? [VIDEO]
In the wake of Carter's (Taraji P. Henson) shocking death on Person of Interest, the team will be grief-stricken and ready to seek revenge.
Person of Interest executive producer Jonathan Nolan told TV Guide this week that the next episode of season 3 will be dealing with the aftermath of Carter being shot and killed by Simmons (Robert John Burke).
"The setup for next week's episode is not, 'Hoo-rah! Our team goes and kicks everyone's f---ing a-- up and down the block.'" Nolan explained. "It's about grief and it's about the damage that can come out of that . . . In next week's episode, someone is planning on killing Simmons. The real mystery of the episode is who."
Nolan also suggest that the HR story arc of season 3 would be drawing to a close soon, after Carter's death. While he said that it's great to have villains like Simmons and Quinn (Clarke Peters) on the series, he also noted that they cannot go on forever
Meanwhile, Henson said that she is hoping to return to Person of Interest through flashbacks of Carter.
"Absolutely," she told TV Guide on returning to the show someday. "I love Carter, and I'm interested in learning more about her. And that's the way you would learn more, is in flashbacks." She also noted that Carter is now immortalized through the lives she's touched.
Person of Interest season 3 airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on CBS.
