Mad Men star Jon Hamm recently admitted that the seventh and final season of the AMC series will be tough to get through.

Hamm explained in an interview with The Guardian this week that while he's still feeling okay about Mad Men ending, he likely won't be when it actually does.

"Will it be sad? Absolutely. I have made a lot of very close friends on the show," Hamm explained. "You know, I am feeling pretty zen about it just now, but probably next year I will be crying my eyes out."

Hamm and company recently began filming on Mad Men's final season. Series creator Matthew Weiner is notoriously secretive when it comes to spoilers, so very few details have come out about season 7. Hamm also discussed the transformation the actors and characters have gone through since season 1.

"It has been a long stretch. If you look back at Don and Betty in [season 1], and how young the kids were, and how much more hair I had, you get a real sense of life passing; it's a bit like one of those Russian novels in that way. It has been a solid 25 percent of my existence on the planet. But that's enough, I think."

The Mad Men production crew had to stop filming at LAX recently due to the shooting that occurred.

Mad Men season 7 airs its first seven episodes in spring 2014 on AMC and its last seven episodes in spring 2015. A specific premiere date has not yet been scheduled for either grouping of episodes.
