'Supernatural' Season 9 Spoilers: Metatron Returns in 'Holy Terror' PHOTOS; Finds Heaven 'A Little Lonely' VIDEO
Supernatural is quickly approaching their midseason finale, "Holy Terror," and it looks like angels of all allegiances - good, bad, and in between - will be turning up.
Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) get word of some suspicious angel deaths and turn up to find Castiel (Misha Collins) already on the scene. While Dean wonders if he should continue following Ezekiel's directions, a new baddie named Malachi comes to the fore, Metatron (Curtis Armstrong) pops by, and Cas finds himself in danger.
Now that Metatron finally has heaven to himself, why would he want to visit the Earth? Whatever the reason, it doesn't look as if time will have tempered the scribe's malice.
"Off tomorrow for two more episodes of @_supernatural_ . #Metatron returns!" Armstrong tweeted on Oct. 14 before beginning work on "Holy Terror." "And he's no angel---he's a very naughty boy!"
Despite Crowley's (Mark Sheppard) recent declaration that Metatron's falling angels spell can not be undone, executive producer Robert Singer claims the storyteller will start to feel like heaven is a bit too empty.
"I can tell you that while he exacted his revenge, he's finding it a little lonely up there," Singer said in an interview with Give Me My Remote TV. "There are non-angels up there, there are all the souls that have risen to heaven, and he doesn't really have anybody up there to keep the electricity on."
In the meantime, Kevin Tran (Osric Chau) will still be hard at work translating the angel tablet in hope to find a way to put heaven back in its place.
