'NCIS: LA' Season 5 Spoilers: Deeks and Kensi Get Physical VIDEO, One Partner 'Will Be Reassigned' Following 'Frozen Lake' PHOTOS
Kensi and Deeks are struggling to find a balance between their work lives and their private lives on NCIS: Los Angeles.
To put it simply, it's not going very well. It's going so poorly, in fact, that Kesni (Daniela Ruah) will haul off and punch her partner in the face (see video below).

As the Special Operations team works to retrieve a missing thumb drive and tangle with some highly skilled, knife-wielding opposition during "Frozen Lake," Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) and Kensi tackle their relationship issues head on for the first time since their ill-timed kiss last season.
While viewers don't yet know what happened following their attempted dinner during "Recovery," its fairly safe to say the duo have at least addressed their feelings in some manner and doing so has caused Deeks to lose his edge in the field. When it comes to putting his partner in danger, the LAPD detective is even more cautious then normal, as shown in the below clip.
This caution will result in the escape of a criminal and Kensi and Hetty (Linda Hunt) will both be more than a little miffed by this event.
"Kensi and Deeks face their biggest challenge, both professionally and personally in coming episodes," said series creator Shane Brannan, according to TV Line. "The emotional ripple that started with their unexpected kiss at the end of last season is about to turn into a tsunami that doesn't just impact them, but the whole team. As a result, one of them will be reassigned."

While this could signal Kensi's departure for a seven-episode long Afghanistan arc (a cover for Ruah's real-life pregnancy), it is not known if the NCIS Agent will make her departure during this week's episode.
