Mad Men star Jon Hamm is confident that there will not be a movie after the series ends in 2015.

Hamm talked to The Sydney Morning Herald recently about the possibility of Mad Men: The Movie.

'I think the reason there are very few television shows that become successful films is that they're completely different ways to tell a story," Hamm explained. "I think that's kind of why there probably won't be a Mad Men movie. It's hard to condense the world that we have into such a small package."

Most popular shows have received buzz about the possibility of a movie after the series was over. There have been rumors of a Friends movie (or reunion) for years. Desperate Housewives has also been thrown in the mix for a potential movie sequel to the show.

However, the nature of Mad Men does not entirely lend itself to a big movie, as Hamm noted.

"We could turn Don Draper into James Bond, make him a spy and run around and kiss pretty girls and rappel down windows, but that's not Mad Men," Hamm said. "That's James Bond.''

Viewers last saw Don Draper in the season 6 finale being let go from his job at Sterling Cooper & Partners. In the season's final moments, the aging ad executive showed his kids his childhood home, a.k.a. a whorehouse.

Mad Men returns for its seventh and final season in spring 2014 and will conclude in spring 2015. AMC has not scheduled premiere dates for either group of episodes.
