'Supernatural' Season 9 Spoilers: Is Sam Still Ready To Die? Jared Padalecki's Character May Have 'Sacrificial' Feelings VIDEO
Supernatural's Sam Winchester is currently unaware that he should be dead and that he was quite ready to die.
However, when Dean's (Jensen Ackles) secret about his younger brother's angel possession finally does come to the surface and Sam (Jared Padalecki) realizes what has transpired, the hunter may still feel as if his time on Earth should come to an end.
"We definitely do see that Sam values his life, but he also values life. And kind of says, 'Why am I more important than this or than that?'" Padalecki said, according to TV Guide. "And I think it's a good place for Sam to be and I think we'll certainly see more of Sam saying, 'Listen Dean, I think I've done my bit."
At a Burbank, Calif. Salute to Supernatural convention in early November, Padalecki likened Sam position to a dying patient who has found peace with their life and is ready to move on.
"I think Sam...was ready to go and I guess that's a big struggle," the actor told BurCon attendees. "I feel like Sam found that place. He's like, 'You know what? I'm ready to go.' So I think Sam should be upset [when he learns about Ezekiel]."
As the CW series moves closer to its midseason finale, Dean is quickly tiring of carrying his secret. During "Rock and a Hard Place," the elder Winchester nearly breaks down and tells his brother the truth when Sam begins to believe the weakness and exhaustion he is feeling is somehow his fault.
No matter how much Dean wants to explain the situation to Sammy, when the angel is let out of the bag, Dean will have to deal both an irate brother and Sammy's potential sacrificial feelings, according to TV Guide.
