'The Americans' Season 2 Premiere: Meryl Streep Becomes Obstacle in Stan & Nina's Romance? [VIDEO]
Actress Meryl Streep will be integral to one of the story lines of The Americans season 2 premiere.
A new report by TVLine is claiming that Streep is set to be an obstacle in the relationship between FBI agent Stan (Noah Emmerich) and Nina (Annet Mahendru), the Soviet mole. The actress will reportedly "drive a wedge" between their secret relationship.
The report also claims that Philip (Matthew Rhys) and Elizabeth's (Keri Russell) daughter Paige (Holly Taylor) will get closer to discovering the secret lives of her KGB spy parents. Paige will continue to investigate her parents beyond just the laundry room, as seen in the season 1 finale.
Another report by TV Guide claims that Paige "refuses to give up" on figuring out the truth about her secretive parents. In another storyline, Philip has to use their son Henry (Keidrich Sellati) on a mission that ultimately results in numerous deaths.
The Americans Season 2 Premiere: Does Paige Learn the Identity of Her KGB Parents?
With The Americans season 2 coming closer to its February premiere, FX is launching its campaign of promoting the show. Two new teaser trailers have been released for season 2, both of them emphasizing the U.S.-Soviet Union conflict.
The first trailer, titled Stripes, features shots of the Elizabeth and Philip looking paranoid while the American flag waves rapidly. The other trailer, titled Free Flag, features the American flag and the flag of the Soviet Union folding onto each other, teasing the tight conflict.
The Americans season 2 premieres on Wednesday, Feb. 26 at 10 p.m. on FX.
