After Ziva David left NCIS, some fans hoped Tony DiNozzo would move on and find a new love interest.

But, the show's executive producer Gary Glasberg revealed that Tony won't be starting a relationship with a new lady just yet.

"I don't think his next relationship is going to happen anytime soon," he told TVLine in a Tuesday report. "Part of letting Tony be Tony and letting him be flirtatious and talk to women is that these women don't really matter. They're quick encounters that he's having; it's not Ziva. They're not ones that count. Eventually, will there be another [great love]? Maybe."

Ziva emotionally left the show back in October and before she parted ways with Tony, he attempted to get her to stay.

"Listen, you can bag groceries for all I care, just come home. I just want you to come home with me," a teary-eyed Tony told her. "I know it's hard and I know you want to change. I can change with you. I'm fighting for you Ziva."

Despite Tony's words, Ziva still decided it was best to leave.

Yet, the former agent may not be out of the equation completely as Glasberg previously showed interest in having the character return in some way.

"A lot of people have approached me about the idea of not shutting the door entirely on [their staying in touch], and I'm not opposed to it," he had told TVLine. "But it has to be done in a way where it feels organic to the storytelling and we're not just throwing in lines about Ziva here and there."

Glasberg explained that "If Tony's in a personal relationship or there's something significant happening for him and he wondered how she would respond, then maybe we can figure out a way to do it. It's a valid issue to bring up."
