Gabourey Sidibe might not be able to star in FX's American Horror Story anymore after being signed on to another popular show.

Matt Bomer Working 'Extensively' With Lady Gaga In 'American Horror Story'

Sidibe has starred in American Horror Story: Coven and Freak Show, but she may not be in season 5, titled Hotel. The actress will be a series regular on Fox's monster hit Empire for season 2, which conflicts with production on American Horror Story.

Starting as a guest actress in season 1 of Empire, Sidibe played Becky Williams, the assistant to Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard). It was announced this week that Sidibe has been bumped up to series regular status, so now she will be in the main cast.

Since she will have to devote her time to this show, it is very unlikely that she will have a role on American Horror Story this year.

Sidibe played Queenie, a young witch with Voodoo powers in Coven, appearing in 12 of 13 episodes. She had a much smaller role in Freak Show, playing Regina Ross, the wealthy daughter of Patti LaBelle's character, Dora.

In the mean time, the cast of American Horror Story: Hotel is gradually shaping up. Lady Gaga was first announced as starring in the new season, followed by Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson, Wes Bentley and Chloë Sevigny.

It was recently announced that Kathy Bates and Sarah Paulson would be returning for Hotel as well, with Bates running the hotel and Paulson playing the "baddest bad girl."

American Horror Story: Hotel is expected to begin in October on FX.
