With Survivor: Second Chance voting continuing into its final days, some of the players from the middle to late seasons could find themselves left behind in the voting.

CBS is letting America choose the cast of the new season of Survivor to air this fall, which has the twist of bringing in returning players for a "second chance." America must select 10 men and 10 women from a preselected group of 32 former one-time players who did not win the game in their first season. With some of the game's earliest players like Kelly Wiglesworth from Borneo (Season 1) and Jeff Varner from Australia (Season 2) in addition to players from the most recent season like Shirin Oskooi and Joe Anglim, there is a motley crew of people to select.

With so many old favorites in the mix with newer players popular with fans, some of the players from the middle to late seasons (particular seasons 22-24) might have a harder time garnering votes. Nostalgia can be a big factor in voting for these types of polls, and recency bias is an even more powerful factor, so those in between could be in bad spot.

Perhaps this is why those from middle seasons aren't doing as well in certain fan-made exit polls. The Survivor Reddit community's poll is a good example of those players falling below people who played in the early seasons or more recent seasons.

For the females, Redemption Island's Natalie Tenerelli and Stephanie Valencia are in the bottom six, as well as South Pacific's Mikayla Wingle and One World's Sabrina Thompson. For the men, South Pacific's Jim Rice is struggling in addition to One World's Troyzan Robertson.

While other "middle school" players like Tocantins' Stephen Fishbach, China's Peih-Gee Law and, to a lesser extent, Samoa's Monica Padilla are charting fairly well, their season grouping pales in comparison to the many old school players and new school players in the top 10.

Another factor that does not help players like Sabrina, Natalie, Mikayla and Jim is that they aren't as memorable compared to their competition. When there are such dynamic personalities as Cagayan's Kass McQuillen and Panama's Shane Powers in the mix, it's tough to stand out for more level-headed players who didn't make much impact.

Official results are not known yet, though, so it is entirely possible that many of these players believed to be near the bottom of the list could have fans who rally for them and get them in the top 10.

The official cast will be announced live at the Survivor: Worlds Apart reunion show Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
