Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) will be struck with a big decision in the next episode of ABC's Once Upon a Time.

ABC has released a plot synopsis for the next episode of Once Upon a Time, which is titled "Devil's Due." The synopsis reveals that Hook may be damned to the River of Lost Souls if he doesn't make a huge decision:

"Hook's captivity takes a dark turn when Hades [Greg Germann] threatens to condemn him to the River of Lost Souls after Hook refuses to choose which three of his friends will have to remain in the Underworld," the synopsis reads.

"Meanwhile, Gold [Robert Carlyle] is suddenly eager to help Emma [Jennifer Morrison], Snow [Ginnifer Goodwin], David [Josh Dallas], Regina [Lana Parrilla], Robin [Sean Maguire] and Henry [Jared Gilmore] find Hook so he can return home to Belle; but in order to do so, he must find his ex-wife Milah [Rachel Shelley] in the Underworld and ask for her help. In Fairy Tale Land flashbacks, Rumple and Milah face a life-or-death crisis concerning their son, Baelfire [Dean Petriw], that forces Rumple to make a deal that will haunt him."

Guest stars for this episode, in addition to Germann, Shelley and Petriw, include Lee Arenberg as Leroy/Grumpy, Beverley Elliott as Granny, Victoria Smurfit as Cruella De Vil, Aaron Douglas as Fendrake the Healer and Gavin Cooke as Drunken Lout.

The promo for the episode shows several dramatic scenes, including one with Gold and Hades meeting and discussing a possible "deal." Hades later says that he is going to "collect your friends," with flashes of Emma, Regina and the rest of the heroes.

Then, in the most significant scene, Hook is shown being narrowed into what appears to be the River of Lost Souls, with Emma suddenly appearing and telling him to "hang on, I'm coming for you!" It seems likely that Hook will be all right in the end, but Emma looks to be putting herself in grave danger here.

Once Upon a Time airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
