Geraldo Rivera wasn't too happy with his first dance in Monday night's premiere of ABC's Dancing With the Stars.

Rivera and his pro partner Edyta Sliwinska received the worst score of the night in this week's premiere. Their cha-cha, set to "Treasure" by Bruno Mars, received a measly 13 out of 30 from the judges.

Rivera and Sliwinska spoke with E! News after the premiere and spoke about the brutal feedback they received from the judges—Len Goodman in particular.

"I thought that his critique, while cruel, was pretty accurate," Rivera admitted, while Sliwinska quickly added, "It makes for great television, right?"

Sliwinska also spoke about Rivera not being "very happy" about his performance after it was over.

"He wasn't very happy. He felt he messed up a step, and he did. But it's not really what's important. The fight is important that you put up," she explained.

But for Rivera, it's all about the experience itself rather than getting the absolute perfect score.

"It's about the effort. It's about doing something that's outside my comfort zone, you know, way outside the box for me," he said. "And to wait so late in life to try it is kind of funny!"

While Rivera has the worst score among all 12 celebrities that performed in the premiere, it's possible that America's vote will save him in the end. After all, he is arguably one of the most well-known cast members this season and he probably has some more entertaining dances in his future.

Other celebs that failed to receive good scores in the premiere were Mischa Barton and Doug Flutie. Both seemed to struggle out of the gate and if they weren't able to muster up enough votes from America, it's possible that one of them could be the first person eliminated. Regardless, it will very likely be between Barton, Flutie and Rivera for next Monday's first elimination.

But stranger things have happened on Dancing With the Stars over the years.

Dancing With the Stars airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
