Quantico's namesake will go the way of the dodo in season 2.

That's right, the Academy will fade into the rearview when Alex and her fellow NATs graduate in the season finale. The Bureau's Virginian proving grounds is an integral piece of the current storyline, but once their training is complete, the newbies will leave the dorms behind.

"There will be no Quantico in Season 2," Josh Safran told TV Insider. "That's a big spoiler I just gave away maybe...I don't care!"

Despite this twist, Safran will keep the duel storylines rolling.

"I think the structure of the show is the structure of the show, but that doesn't mean that we're not going to be tweaking and fine tuning and sort of looking at it little bit differently," Safran explained. Although some viewers may find the back and forth infuriating, splitting the plot gives Quantico writers a unique advantage. "That doesn't really exist on TV...it's like yin and yang, two sides of the same coin always pressed together."

Season 2, however, is a long ways away. At the moment, viewers should be bracing for a massive episode 15. Everyone's disparate Academy timelines will converge when terrorists attempt to infiltrate Quantico in "Turn" (see a preview below).

"Episode 15 really is the culmination of several of our storylines. It involves an event at Quantico that changes everybody's trajectory forever," Safran told Entertainment Weekly. If the characters were New York City subway lines, "Turn" will become a converging station on the scale of Times Square. "I think every single story has a major turning point, some of them in a much larger way than you would think. There are major repercussions for one of the characters. Something as large as the issues Alex is struggling with in the future, someone is struggling with in the present."
