Outlander's Comte St. Germain is not one to be trifled with. That's a lesson Claire and Jamie learned quickly in the season premiere, but it's one that will get hammered home as the merchant seeks his revenge.

Claire's (Caitriona Balfe) medical skills saved Paris from a potential small pox outbreak during "Through a Glass, Darkly," but her loud proclamations resulted in a huge monetary loss for the Comte (Stanley Weber). As a man who clearly prioritizes wealth over the safety of his countrymen, St. Germain took the entire turn of events rather badly. Unfortunately for the Sassenach, his rage could become deadly.

"She inadvertently gets his ship destroyed, so he's out for revenge," Balfe told TV Line. "He's a very interesting and strange character. We don't quite know what his deal is. As the season progresses, they cross paths quite a few times and almost to fatal consequences."

According to Weber, his character is not above murder. The Comte is a very ambitious fellow, and he isn't about to let anything interrupt his plans.

"I don't feel the Comte has any limits whatsoever," Weber informed US Weekly. "He's definitely ready to kill to make his way up to the top."

As Jamie (Sam Heughan) and Claire continue to turn the tide of the Jacobite Rising, they will quickly learn that Paris is rife with intrigue and deception. It's a far cry from Scotland.

"Paris is a very dangerous place," Heughan warned, according to TV Line. "It's hard to know who your enemy or your ally is, and I think they are constantly sort of maneuvering themselves with in this society. There are many dangerous enemies that they face."

Will the Comte prove to be as insidious as Black Jack? Find out more when Outlander airs Saturdays at 10 p.m. ET on Starz. Click the video below to see a preview for the series' next episode, "Useful Occupations and Deceptions."
