They're finally moving forward in their long-awaited romance, but a romantic night together won't necessarily end on a happy note for Rafe (Galen Gerig) and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) when a very much uninvited and unexpected guest arrives at Hope's door on Days of Our Lives.

After confessing his feelings to her and passionately kissing her, Rafe and Hope started exploring the possibility of a romantic relationship more and more. And though their respective family dramas have halted things from going too far, they are still determined to at least explore the possibility of having a good time together. And finally, their chance to have a super romantic night has arrived, and nothing stands in their way when it comes to the magic they feel about their night together.

However, after Rafe leaves Hope for the night, things will take an ugly and scary turn for her, as a ghost from her past walks in her front door unexpectedly and surprises her, mainly because he is supposed to be nothing more than a ghost at this point, but is instead, very much alive. And after the way things ended between them, seeing none other than Aidan (Daniel Cosgrove) again will have her fearing for her life and safety.

Aidan died on their wedding night, after Bo came back and successfully thwarted his attempt to kill Hope by shooting him. Aidan had been trying to kill her because he needed to collect her life insurance money in order to pay off the debts he owed to Stefano and Andre (Thaao Penghlis), and with little options left, killing Hope after marrying her by emulating the (at the time) as of yet unidentified Red Necktie killer seemed like his only way out.

Now though, Hope will be stunned by his apparently not only surviving the gunshot, but his decision to try and come back into her life, as she wants nothing to do with him ever again since he tried to kill her. But, she will be shocked even more when she realizes he isn't there to finish what he started on that fateful night, but instead has a very unexpected reason for being back--he still loves her and wants her back.

Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
