A mysterious virus has suddenly swept through Salem, and before it can be properly contained and treated it will officially claim at least one victim's life on Days of Our Lives.

The virus has begun to affect everyone who was at the photo shoot involving Paul (Christopher Sean), who was the first to be hospitalized with the aches, pains, extraordinarily high fever and other symptoms. Since then, Gabi (Camila Banus) and her daughter Arianna have also been hospitalized with the same symptoms, as well as other models and a photographer from the shoot.

Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) and Fynn (Alexander Bruszt) have been working as quickly and hard as possible to try and determine what kind of virus this is, though they've had no luck identifying it since neither one has ever seen this strain in the past. And with no ability to identify it properly, it is harder to treat. And unfortunately, their efforts to try and keep it from killing anyone will not be successful in time, as at least one of the hospitalized victims will succumb to the illness and pass away before they can get the proper help.

Gabi has been deteriorating very quickly ever since she was hospitalized, and is currently surrounded by her loved ones, like her mother, Adriana (Alma Delfina), her father, Eduardo (A. Martinez) and brother, Dario (Jordi Vilasuso). J.J. (Casey Moss) is also with her, hoping he won't have to say goodbye to another girlfriend who would be so cruelly snatched away by death.

However, her young daughter also succumbed to the virus as well, and could be in even more jeopardy than her mother is since she is so young, making her just as likely to be the victim who's life is claimed by the virus. It seems most likely however that one of the other models or the photographer will be the one to die.

What no one has realized yet is that the virus started with Paul because of the injections Ling gave him when he took him and John (Drake Hogestyn) captive. Ling wanted to cause havoc and destruction before he died, and he may have successfully done it now by unleashing this toxic virus in Salem.

Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
