'NCIS: LA' Season 8: New Night & Time Announced, A Densi Proposal In The Cards? [VIDEO]
Bring in the moving trucks! NCIS: Los Angeles is pack its bags and heading on over to Sunday nights.
It's a good thing Callen lives like a monk - for the second time in as many years, the NCIS star and his coworkers will have to pick up their duffle bags and settle into a new night and time. Season 8 will drop into CBS' Sunday 8 p.m. slot.
It's a big move for the former Monday night drama. Not only do Sunday's draw a smaller crowd, but the earlier hour means NCIS: LA's 10 p.m. content will go right out the window.
Executive producer John Peter Kousakis doesn't seem overly concerned, however. No matter where CBS drops the series, the EP promises the writers and cast will continue to churn out the same high-quality episodes we've come to know and love.
So, what's on tap for the 2016-2017 season? A little lipstick smudge announced the arrival of the Nell (Renee Felice Smith)/Eric (Barrett Foa) romance in the finale, but it's the Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen)/Kensi (Daniela Ruah) relationship fans are worried about. After all, there is a Densi marriage proposal still hanging in the air.
"We will not see, I don't think, a proper proposal until next season, because we have an idea for how to do that that I want to play out," executive producer Scott Gemmill told TV Guide. "I already know how we're going to do it. It's just, the fans have waited long enough that we want it to be worth the wait."
Meanwhile, viewers are wondering if Ruah's real-life pregnancy will cause Kensi to briefly drop out of the picture. NCIS: LA handled the actress' first foray into motherhood like a pro, filming her Afghanistan arc months in advance. Could Ruah's baby bump cause Densi to reopen the baby debate - NCIS's Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) and NCIS: LA's Sam Hanna (LL Cool J) could give them a few tips - or has Kensi put the Mommy and Me mags down for the moment?
Find out when NCIS: LA returns to CBS this fall, now airing Sundays at 8 p.m. ET.
