They always found their way back to one another every time something ripped them apart, but things may really and truly be over for good this time between Victor (Eric Braden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) on The Young and the Restless.

Ever since Nikki testified against him in his trial for kidnapping Jack (Peter Bergman) and hiring Marco to assume his life and even rape Phyllis (Gina Tognoni), the pair has been on the outs, with Victor refusing to forgive his wife for what he saw as an ultimate betrayal. His actions and attitude as he continues serving his 10-year prison term has led Nikki to fall back off the wagon and seek solace in her alcohol addiction. But finally, she's decided that she's truly had enough and is ready to move past their recent drama, by filing for divorce.

She will get the process rolling quickly, and will even be surprised after Michael (Christian LeBlanc) manages to draw the papers up for her faster than she expected. However, she will feel she's doing the right thing, and will sign them before going to seek Victor out at the prison.

"Everything seems to be as you requested it," Michael says to her in a preview clip for the Monday, May 23 episode.

However, one person in particular is not happy about Nikki's decision, and sees it as another act of betrayal against Victor, and when she believes her grandmother is just kicking her grandfather even further when she feels he is already down, she will head to the prison first to warn him, so he doesn't end up blindsided by the news.

"Grandma's filing for divorce," she says in the clip.

Though the news may be hard for Victor to swallow, when Nikki arrives to tell him he will already accept the turn of events, and will even try to use it against her to continue trying to make her feel badly about testifying against him. But perhaps stronger than she's ever been, Nikki will stick to her gut and proceed with the divorce.

The Young and the Restless airs Monday-Friday at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
