Things seemed as though they were finally falling into place and he was going to have the charges against him for Constance Bingham's murder dropped, but Adam (Justin Hartley) is about to learn he won't be that lucky after all on The Young and the Restless.

He was first relieved to find out that his deal with Ian (Ray Wise) seemed to pay off, with Ian telling him that he got a full confession out of Victor (Eric Braden) that he was framing his son as payback. Ian's condition was that he be allowed to testify in court instead of just giving a statement while still behind bard himself, and that he be moved to a minimum security prison, something Adam and Michael (Christian LeBlanc) were willing to do if it helped the case. What they don't know is that Ian is lying to them, and got no such confession. And the help Ian can provide will also quickly become questionable after he brags to Victor that he's going to use his son to get himself out of jail, while Victor rots away even longer, leading Victor to beat him up and get himself locked in solitary.

In addition, the lab tech who Dylan (Steve Burton) and Paul (Doug Davidson) found to have suddenly received what looked like a huge payout, most likely to alter the results of the testing done on Constance's body, has turned up dead after committing suicide, news that Adam will guess is coming, briefly causing some doubts with Michael and Chelsea about what he knows.

"That lab technician won't be able to testify," Michael says in a preview clip for the Thursday, June 9 episode.

"He's dead," Adam muses.

"How could you possibly know that?" Michael asks.

Adam will insist that he figured that was the case because it seems to be his luck as far as this particular circumstance is concerned, and he will begin to worry more about what this might do to him and his family, as he moans about Victor getting away with this.

However, at the same time, Dylan and Paul will learn where the cash came from to bribe the now dead lab tech, and everyone will be shocked when it shows that Victor actually isn't the one behind this incident.

The Young and the Restless airs Monday-Friday at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
