AMC is premiering its new docudrama The American West Saturday night, and here's how you can watch it live online.

The American West is a new limited event series debuting on AMC Saturday, telling the story of America in the years after the Civil War. The series will be covering 1865-90 in the American west, where outlaws ran amuck.

Many legends from Western culture will be covered including Jesse James, Billy the Kid, Wyatt Earp, Crazy Horse and Sitting Bull.

Actor/director Robert Redford executive produced the series alongside Stephen David (The Making of the Mob: New York, The Men Who Built America) and Laura Michalchyshyn with Sundance Productions. The series includes "exclusive interviews with notable names from classic Western films, including Redford, James Caan, Burt Reynolds, Tom Selleck, Kiefer Sutherland, Mark Harmon, Ed Harris and more," says AMC.

"Just the excitement and the challenge of uncharted territory," Redford says in a new clip previewing the series (seen below), "that's a little of the American way."

"It's the whole idea of opportunity, looking for another life," Danny Glover adds in the clip.

The American West premieres Saturday at 10 p.m. ET/PT on AMC. A new episode will air every Saturday at this time through the summer.
