She was supposed to be getting better and then finally going home to resume her life, but Abigail's (Kate Mansi) paranoia that Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) will be able to get to her at Shady Hills will continue consuming her on Days of Our Lives.

In one of her paranoid states where she was convinced he was standing there, right in front of her, she set fire to the facility, resulting in burns on her own face and body. Now, as Chad (Billy Flynn), Marlena (Deirdre Hall) and Jen (Melissa Reeves) learn the truth about Abigail's involvement in the fire, they will also be forced to deal with Abigail's insistence that they get her out of there as quickly as possible.

They all know that after Ben's escape from a psychiatric facility, Abigail tried to kill him in a manner which mirrored the way he tried to kill her and Chad. Chad saved her from burning Ben alive in their mansion, and after the attack, Ben was then sent to prison, with no hope of being able to escape and find Abigail again. However, her inability to remember almost killing him, coupled with the hallucinations she had been having for weeks before he showed up, led to her being committed as well.

Unfortunately, being locked up in Shady Hills has not helped her, and her hallucinations have only been getting worse, hence her starting the fire at the facility. Now, as Chad and Jen try to console her and get through to her in the hopes it will help her get better, they will be stunned when she demands they actually check her out of the facility, or even help her escape, because she is thoroughly convinced that Ben is not a hallucination, but that he is really getting into Shady Hills and taunting her. And in order to feel safe from him, she wants to be wherever else she can find where he won't be able to get to her.
