'Young and the Restless' (Y&R) Spoilers: Adam Learns Of A New Witness Against Him [VIDEO]
His defense against the charge that he murdered Constance Bingham to keep his real identity a secret rests solely on the testimony of Ian Ward (Ray Wise), but Adam (Justin Hartley) will learn that the only thing that could keep him out of jail for a crime he didn't commit will also potentially be taken away on The Young and the Restless.
So far, every piece of evidence he could get that would connect Victor (Eric Braden) to the crime and prove he was being framed out of revenge for helping send his father to prison has managed to disappear. Though the lab tech who was bribed wasn't actually related to his case and was involved in a completely different scandal, he committed suicide when the police began sniffing around. Then, when he decided to look into who may have forged the entry in Sage's diary, the forger with a relationship to Victor also wound up dead. Then, Victor's new love interest Meredith (Alicia Coppola) decided to testify against him on Victor's behalf, claiming Adam was trying to extend his father's own sentence by pinning his crime on him. Now, without any real indication of how it will go, his hopes are all pinned on Ian.
However, he will get some form of good news about his trial, though it will also make him question if there is something else going on as well.
"I actually have a meeting with the D.A. to retract my statement," Meredith says to him in a preview clip for the Wednesday, June 22 episode. "I won't be testifying at your trial."
And while Meredith taking back what she said should be a good thing, Adam will have a sneaking suspicion that there's something else bad coming his way, and a visit with Victor will confirm it.
Adam will pay his father a visit and learn that he now plans to take the stand instead to refute Ian's claims he confessed to setting Adam up, And, after Victor insists he has nothing to feel guilty about, Adam will realize that he had someone else take care of all the dirty work for him, and his chances at escaping this situation will continue looking even more bleak.
The Young and the Restless airs Monday-Friday at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
