The plan is to prove he was behind the Newman Oil Crisis so that Summer (Hunter King) will reconsider marrying him, but the plan that her family put into action to keep her away from Luca (Miles Gaston Villanueva) will backfire on The Young and the Restless.

Summer will be appalled when she walks in on her mother, Phyllis (GIna Tognoni) and grandfather, Victor (Eric Braden) and realizes they're conspiring to break off her engagement. However, things will get even more tense when she realizes Victor actually met with Luca in an attempt to try and set him up before, and he never told her about it. But, when she goes to confront her fiance, he will be able to spin things around and convince her to stay on his side.

"Why didn't you tell me that you had a meeting with my grandfather yesterday?" She asks in a preview clip for the Tuesday, August 16 episode.

Luca will spin the story however he needs to make sure Summer doesn't doubt him, but she will still be upset by her family's obvious lack of support over her plans for the future, especially after she learns that her father, Nick (Joshua Morrow), is also working to keep her marriage from happening.

To try and prove he was the one behind the oil crisis and that he was trying to frame Travis (Michael Roark), Nick will seek out Victoria (Amelia Heinle) to get in touch with her old beau and convince him to come back to Genoa City so that he can defend himself against the accusations Luca sent his way.

"I don't want to drag Travis into this, but he's our only hope," he says in the clip.

However, Luca got to Travis first and filled his head with lies about how things have gone down with Victoria since he left, and when she goes to call and ask for his help he will refuse-forcing everyone to realize that their plan is quickly failing, and they may not be able to stop the wedding after all.
