'Blindspot' Season 2: First Look At Luke Mitchell & Archie Panjabi! Find Out Who Jane Can Trust [VIDEO]
Blindspot is loath to keep fans waiting. The series' freshman run made a habit of doling out reveals on the regular, and season 2's premiere will continue the trend. As two new faces join the cast, viewers can expect to hear both sides of Jane Doe's story.
Agents of SHIELD's Luke Mitchell and The Good Wife's Archie Panjabi will each make their debuts during the Sept. 14 episode, but the actors will set up camp on drastically different sides of the drama.
Roman (Luke Mitchell)
A familiar face from Jane's (Jaimie Alexander) past, Roman will appear in the wake of Oscar's death. Bearing a scar on his right cheek, Mitchell's character will invoke a callback to Jane's brief season 1 memory of her childhood. With more flashbacks planned for the premiere, there is a good chance Blindspot will elucidate Roman's mission by turning back the clock (see a photo here).
"He's very, very, very protective of Jane, extremely protective of Jane," Alexander teased, according to Entertainment Weekly. "He's unpredictable, which is a really great character to play. [Luke] is fantastic, he's just absolutely fantastic. He's a cool, great guy, great actor, just nails that character."
Naz Kamal (Archie Panjabi)
Unlike Roman, Naz will operate in the open. As it turns out, the FBI isn't the government's only alphabet soup agency interested in the Jane Doe case. The NSA is also turning the pages on Jane's past, and Panjabi's character will lead up a secret arm of the agency that is hell bent on finding answers. Although that sounds problematic, it will be Ms. Kamal who smoothes over the Weller (Sullivan Stapleton)/Jane rift as the season begins (see a photo here).
"You will have to watch the series to see if there is any mystery or what the character is. I really like the character," the actress told The Hollywood Reporter. "She is tough. She is tenacious. She is wild. She's unpredictable."
