'Outlander' Season 3: How Will Time Change Jamie? Sam Heughan Teases 20-Year Jump [VIDEO]
Grab your kilts! Filming for Outlander season 3 is officially underway.
Sam Heughan (Jamie) returned to set earlier this week, signaling the start of Jamie's Voyager travails. The story will pick up two decades after the Battle of Culloden, but, as viewers will presumably learn via flashbacks, it's been a long 20 years for the Scotsman and his Sassenach. Separated by centuries but destined to meet again, Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie will be marred by the passage of time when we find them in 1765 Edinburgh.
"I'm thinking about getting really fat," Heughan ribbed, according to Vulture. "I'm thinking [about] eating a lot, and not working out would be really good. [But] do we really want to see that?"
Heughan followed through on his joke when he posted a behind-the-scenes photo of an alleged "Older Jamie" (it's really Fat Bastard from Austin Powers).
Balfe countered with her own tweet, telling Heughan that the famed print shop reunion would go a tad differently if that was the case.
