It appears a legendary actress could be joining the cast of one of the biggest shows on television, as a new report suggests that Angela Lansbury is filming for a guest starring role on season seven of Game of Thrones.

According to the report, Lansbury, 90, will make a guest appearance in two episodes of the upcoming season, which was shortened from the usual 10 episode order because it is the penultimate season. She is scheduled to spend four days filming for her role.

It is unclear what the role will be and how significant a piece it will play in the overall show, as the series has eclipsed the books by an entire season, and without any specifics for the role which might suggest it was briefly introduced in the books, it's impossible to know if Lansbury's character will be important to another character's big story.

Lansbury isn't the only bigger name to join the show for the upcoming season. It's also been reported that Jim Broadbent, who portrayed Professor Horace Slughorn in the Harry Potter movies, is also joining the show for a "significant" role in the upcoming season, though no other details have been released on that role either.

The show's seventh season is going to be the penultimate one before the series wraps for good in 2018 with season eight. The season six finale saw some big reveals and big moves as well by the major characters. Jon Snow (Kit Harington) was revealed to truly be the son of Lyana Stark and likely Rhaegar Targaryen, not Ned Stark's bastard, and he was named the new King in the North after the Starks took back Winterfell from the Boltons. Meanwhile Arya (Maisie Williams) has begun to put her skills she acquired at the House of Black and White to good use and started working on finishing off her kill list.

Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) also made a big move, starting her journey across the Narrow Sea to Westeros, with a new army of allies with her through the Greyjoys, the remaining Tyrells, and the Martells of Dorne. Cersei (Lena Headey) also managed to oblitrate all of her enemies in one huge stroke, and finished off the prophecy that all of her children would die as well, ascending to the Iron Throne as the Queen of Westeros.

Game of Thrones returns next summer.
