"Hwarang: The Beginning," starring Park Seo Joon, dropped its teaser trailer a few days ago, much to the delight of anticipating fans. Seo Joon, along with other good looking Korean actors, can now finally be seen in moving pictures, instead of just still promotional photos for the series.
"Hwarang: The Beginning" has been getting quite the buzz ever since it was announced early this year. With rising star, Park casted as the lead, tons of fans of Korean drama around the world patiently but excitedly await the premiere of the historical series.
The teaser, posted by the TV network, comes without subtitles. However, according to Soompi, the video contains the show's tagline "Changing the world through youthful passion." In keeping with the tagline, the new trailer has indeed showcased every young cast of the drama.
See Joon, sporting long hair, dominates the clip since he is the principal actor in the epic series. At one point in the teaser, he is heard saying the lines, "With the mentality of the divine lands, Hwarang remains completely loyal to the divine land and its master" in Korean, of course.
The video also revealed the premiere date of the KBS2 drama, which will be on Dec. 19. This will be just a few weeks from now and surely, fans are counting to the day when they will finally be able to watch the much-hyped series.
"Hwarang: The Beginning" has three main characters led by Park Seo Joon. He is a member of the hwarang, an elite warrior group of the Silla kingdom. Based on the teaser and his character description, it very well looks like Seo Joon leads a group of Hwarang. He is described as unrelenting and free-spirited. These are qualities which could be both beneficial and detrimental especially in a historical drama character.
Apart from the 27-year-old actor, Go Ara and Park Hyung Sik are also listed as leads in the KBS2 series, iTech Post wrote. Ara's character is the only female in the group. However, she is an equal to any member of the Hwarang.
Hyung Sik, on the other hand, plays the role of the king, who is also described as faceless. With such a description, avid historical drama fans can deduce that the character hides his real identity from everyone else in order to belong to the group.
