Tristan Thompson posted a heartfelt birthday tribute for Khloé Kardashian weeks after they were spotted dining together in Malibu.

In celebration of the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star's 40th birthday, the Canadian professional basketball player made four Instagram Stories to honor his ex, saying, "Happy birthday, Khloé," "You are the best mom," "You are my best friend" and "the most incredible human being I've ever met."

Attached to the Stories were photos of them with their children True, 6, and Tatum, 1. The Cleveland Cavaliers player also posted a snap of Khloé with his 17-year-old brother Amari in the last slide.

Seeing the 33-year-old athlete's series of Instagram Stories and the repost by The Shade Room, some social media users shared their reactions.

"They appreciate you when it's too late," commented one user.

"He ruined her and embarrassed her publicly but got the nerve to say that's his best friend. OMG," remarked another.

"It's actually more disrespectful to say all of this after everything he has done. 'Cause then people rehash it. Just text her happy birthday, send some flowers, and move in silence," weighed in a different commenter.

"She's all that and he still cheated... THE BEAR!" wrote someone else.

"Let me get this straight. He knew her worth, praised her on her character and still cheated.... Multiple times... Oh okay. Happy birthday girlie pop," said another user.

Meanwhile, a different person suggested, "Maybe they're just meant to be friends."

"The message was valid in spite of the messenger! Happy birthday," opined one more.

The ex-couple was spotted dining together in Malibu earlier this month to celebrate a mutual friend's birthday with Corey Gamble and other KarJenners.

While they left in separate vehicles and did not show any sign of PDA, people wondered if they got back together because they were only previously spotted with each other when they were with their children.

Khloé and Tristan called it quits in 2022 after the latter allegedly cheated on the reality star multiple times.
