The Doctor Who Christmas Special is drawing ever nearer and Matt Smith's Time Lord is still dragging around that cyberman head like a child and his blankie.

During Smith's final outing as the eleventh (or thirteenth) incarnation of the Doctor, The Doctor will uproot Clara (Jenna-Louise Coleman) from her holiday dinner in order to chase down a message that is being broadcast to the stars from a small, unassuming planet. However, the Doctor and his TARDIS aren't then only space travelers that have picked up the transmission - some of the Time Lord's most notorious enemies will also be making an appearance.

New images for "The Time of the Doctor" have been released and it looks like cybermen, daleks, and weeping angels are all stopping by for the holidays.

The official poster for the Christmas Special depicted Eleven carrying the severed cyberman head but that was not the first time fans caught a glimpse of the Time Lord and his recent acquisition. A leaked clip from filming also shows the doctor and Clara trudging through the snow with the object as they seek the origin point of a transmission.

Does the head hold a clue as to the reason the Doctor's gravesite is at Trenzalore? Who is summoning travelers across the universe and will they have something to do with the Doctor being able to exceed 12 regenerations?
