'Dancing With the Stars' Season 22: Will Von Miller, Antonio Brown Or Doug Flutie Win? [POLL, VIDEO]
Three NFL players are competing on the upcoming spring season of ABC's Dancing With the Stars, so which one will emerge as the most successful?
Season 22 of Dancing With the Stars features three celebs that have played in the NFL before. First, there's Denver Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller, who also went on to be the Super Bowl MVP this year. Then there's Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown. There's also former quarterback Doug Flutie, who has played with the NFL and the CFL through his career.
Athletes traditionally perform very well on the show, arguably due to their commitment to their physical craft and their ability to take orders from a coach. Past NFL stars that have gone on to win Dancing With the Stars include Emmitt Smith, Hines Ward and Donald Driver.
So which one of Miller, Brown and Flutie could win this season's Mirrorball trophy? Let's break it down.
Miller has the advantage of having just been in the news last month for his star turn in the Super Bowl. He is also paired with Witney Carson, who has done very well in her limited run thus far on the show. She won season 19 with Alfonso Ribeiro and placed fifth with Chris Soules in season 20 and fourth with Carlos PenaVega in season 21.
Brown may be on equal footing with Miller based on his young age and talent on the field. He was the AFC Offensive Player of the Year in 2014 and has been the team MVP for the Steelers in three different years. He is partnered with Sharna Burgess, who just took Nick Carter all the way to the finals last season, ultimately placing as the runners-up. She has also worked with three athletes on DWTS in the past.
As for Flutie, the 53-year-old probably has the worst chance among all three football stars, but he could surprise. He won the Heisman Trophy in 1984 during his college days and has decades of training experience. Flutie may not have the name recognition as much as the other two, but a strong performance in Week 1 could show that he's here to play.
Dancing With the Stars season 22 begins Monday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
