One of the biggest topics coming out of Wednesday night's episode of Survivor: Kaoh Rong was whether Aubry Bracco made the right decision at Tribal Council.

Gondol lost the Immunity Challenge for the second week in a row, sending them to Tribal Council again. Aubry and Joe del Campo were growing weary of Peter Baggenstos and his shadiness and while Joe ultimately made up his mind to vote for Julia Sokolowski, Aubry made a different decision.

Aubry wrote down "JULIA" at Tribal Council but in a rather unprecedented move, she crossed Julia's name out and wrote "PETER." Julia, Scot Pollard and Tai Trang also vote for Peter, which kicked the ER doctor out of the game.

This was clearly a hard choice for Aubry. She could have stuck with Peter and by extension the Brains alliance, but Peter had thrown both her and Joe under the bus. It remains to be seen if this will impact her longterm game.

Survivor host Jeff Probst spoke with Entertainment Weekly after the episode and discussed Aubry's big moment at Tribal Council.

"Remember, Tribal goes much longer than you see on the show. Everybody gets asked questions, so everybody has an opportunity to help or hurt themselves. This Tribal was yet another turning point in the game, and it was electric to witness it in person," he explained. "I knew it was not a done deal and with all the variables the question centered around where would the vote land? I also think this marked a turning point for Aubry. She started out on day 1 in tears, overwhelmed by the elements. She survived and is starting to really blossom as a player. Changing your vote at Tribal is a giant move. You can't be any more active and alive than that--and I loved it."

As for what's ahead next week, it's time for the merge which means the gameplay is about to accelerate.

"Next week is a big episode. A lot goes down, strategies are refined, and more is revealed about just how tough this season is on every single player," Probst said.

Survivor: Kaoh Rong - Brawn vs. Brains vs. Beauty airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
