Call the Midwife is coming back to the United States where everything is about to change.

On Tuesday, PBS released a trailer for the fifth season that shows characters dealing with a number of mixed emotions. As everyone is expecting "something new," there are people who are happy with their lives while others deal with tears- some out of happiness.

There are also going to be surprises as doctors deal with fear. And, of course, there will be more babies being brought into the world.

There has been some speculation on how long the British series could stay on the air since it's already been renewed for a sixth season. And based on the progress, it's possible it could last for a good while.

Stephen McGann, who plays Dr. Turner on the series, spoke to Radio Times on how there are no plans to let the series go anytime soon.

"We have always said, we will run for as long as the people want to see it," McGann said. "Heidi [Thomas, the show's creator] says, 'Bringing women's stories to the screen is a privilege. I'll go on for as long as they want me. I'm up for it.' And we're all up for it. If people want to see it, that's it. We'll still be there."

The actor even thought of his own idea on where the future could lie for the show.

"I can easily see Call the Midwife in space," he joked. "I will be Doctor Turner, 145-years-old, still dashingly handsome with amazing pills to preserve me!"

Call the Midwife Season 5 premieres in the United States on Sunday, April 3 at 8 p.m. ET on PBS.
