'Young and the Restless' (Y&R) Spoilers: Summer Holds The Future Of Pass Key In Her Hands [VIDEO]
The big battle over Natalie's (Maura McCaffray) big Internet security program is gearing up and the Newmans and Abbotts are preparing to head to court, even though a single person who is firmly a member of both camps could be the one who decides the program's fate entirely on The Young and the Restless.
Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and the newly reinstated Nick (Joshua Morrow) are heading up the battle for Newman to reclaim the program, which they claim was stolen by Jabot due to Billy (Jason Thompson) and Phyllis's (Gina Tognoni) scheme, and they know that Summer (Hunter King) could very well be the person to help them get the program back since she was Natalie's roommate and had learned she was working secretly with Billy and Phyllis to get Newman to give up the program so they could grab it.
However, they will quickly learn that similarly to how she tried to prevent Victor (Eric Braden) from being sent to prison for his crimes, she is once again on the defense for someone she loves—and isn't as willing as they'd hoped to turn against her mother this time around.
"All you need to do is tell the truth," Nick assures his daughter in a preview clip for the Friday, April 8 episode.
"You want me to incriminate my own mother!" She retorts.
However, despite her trying to still retain some loyalty to her mother, Summer could also feel some pull towards the Newman side as well, especially since she isn't overly fond of Kevin (Greg Rikaart) and Mariah (Camryn Grimes) either, and they, along with Natalie, are scared to give their depositions in the case. However, when they head to Billy for advice, they could be shocked by his solution to the problem.
"We all have to give depositions on Passkey," Kevin says in the clip. "How do you plan on getting us out of this?"
"Simple concept," Billy replies. "You lie."
However, if Summer learns that they could all be planning to lie about things, it could further cement her towards the Newman side, and she could wind up being the one who helps decide just which company has the rights to the huge program.
The Young and the Restless airs Monday-Friday at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
