She had been hallucinating seeing him and had everyone worried about what was going on with her ever since news broke that Ben (Robert Scott Wilson) had escaped from the psychiatric hospital, but after she comes face-to-face with him once again, Abigail's (Kate Mansi) state of mind will become a much bigger issue on Days of Our Lives.

After Ben turned up for real, Abigail didn't panic about his being there, and when he revealed that he was there because he wanted to be with her again—and didn't seem to have any malice towards her—she decided to take advantage of the situation get her revenge for all the pain he caused her.

She managed to lure him upstairs under the pretense that they would make love, and when she had him in her bed, she stabbed him with a pair of scissors and knocked him out by breaking a lamp over his head. After she successfully tied him to the bed, she woke him up so he could watch as she dumped lighter fluid all over his body—mimicking what he did to her and Chad (Billy Flynn) months before in the abandoned cabin he had kept her captive in. Now, even though he has tried to convince her he is still a hallucination and told her he knew she wouldn't be able to go through with it, Abigail has gotten out a match and lit it—and is ready to set him on fire.

And much to Ben's shock, despite believing she wouldn't go through with trying to hurt him in the same way he tried to kill her, she will flick the match onto his body and start to watch him burn. However, unexpectedly, the man he considered his enemy, who managed to marry Abigail after their ordeal with him, will then arrive on the scene—and despite their bad blood and tense history, Chad will come to Ben's rescue and save him from Abigail's plot. But after Ben is carted off the hospital, Chad will then be forced to question his wife's actual mental state and if she needs help now that she has proven she could be too far gone to save.
