He was sure that his enemy was the one who stabbed him in his cell and sent him to the hospital, but now, after some signs that Ian (Ray Wise) may not have been the one trying to kill him, Victor (Eric Braden) may reluctantly begin to accept an alliance with him on The Young and the Restless.

Victor's only been in prison a short time, but his enemies behind bars have definitely noticed his presence there, and one is making their intent on killing him known by not only orchestrating the stabbing attack, but also loudly threatening his life from the shadows. And though a part of him still has no intention of trusting Ian, Victor may decide to use his one-time enemy's attempts to be friendly to his advantage—and gauge whether his plan he claims is to help Victor is real or not.

"Do you have a plan to get out of here?" Victor asks in a preview clip for the Tuesday, April 12 episode.

"You're paying attention now, huh?" Ian asks.

However, as Ian tells him about his plan to get out, Victor will begin to taunt him since his failed escapes have never worked for him before—he'd be a fool to trust they would now, especially when they included him. Ian however will remain adamant that he is the solution to all of Victor's problems, urging him to listen until he is escorted back to his own cell by the warden.

After Ian is taken away, Victor will learn from the warden that the one who attacked him had actually not been a prisoner at all, but was a guard, one who he has since fired. Now, Victor won't be able to help himself from wondering if Ian had bribed the guard into making the attack, or if his safety is in jeopardy from others.

The Young and the Restless airs Monday-Friday at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
