'The Night Shift' Season 3: Premiere Plot Revealed! Will New Characters Shake Up The ER? [VIDEO]
It's almost time to clock in for The Night Shift.
Medicine doesn't stop when the sun goes down, a fact the midnight denizens of San Antonio Memorial know well. Several months will have past between the season 2 finale and season 3 premiere, but when TC Callahan (Eoin Macken) and his cohorts will return to the ER this June, they will jump right back into action when a life-and-death rescue pulls them into the field.
"While TC Callahan, Scott Clemmens (Scott Wolf) and Topher Zia (Ken Leung) deal with the situation at the hospital, Drew Alister (Brendan Fehr) is serving time overseas in Afghanistan and he, along with colleague Syd Jennings (recurring guest star Jennifer Beals, "Proof"), have to figure out a way around the cultural divide to treat a young Afghani woman," NBC teased.
During the turmoil, a new face will have to adjust to life on the night shift.
"Jordan Alexander (Jill Flint) has recruited Shannon Rivera (Tanaya Beatty, "Lewis and Clark") to the night shift team and the recent med school graduate is eager to prove herself, but her spunky, outspoken nature may not sit well with everyone, particularly Paul Cummings (Robert Bailey Jr.)," NBC said of "The times they Are A-Changing."
While Syd and Shannon join the cast and TC's sister-in-law Annie (Sarah Jane Morris) returns, two familiar faces will fade away. Krista (Jeananne Goossen) has been handling cases since Day 1, but the actress' work on The Walking Dead and Nashville pulled her away from the Night Shift family for season 3. Freddy Rodriguez (Ragosa), meanwhile, stepped away from the series to work on his own project.
