The petition for Finding Carter has hit a new goal.

As of Saturday, the petition to bring back the former MTV series has hit more than 15,000 signatures. So clearly, fans are still working on bringing attention to network executives to see if the show can still be renewed.

There hasn't been any major news announcements though, plus none of the actors have posted anything about the show lately. No one should get too excited right now, but perhaps if that petition continues to do well, then maybe there will be some hope for the future.

The series had the misfortune of going off the air after only two seasons. It revolved around a teenage girl named Carter who lived with her mother only to find out that her mother is actually her kidnapper. Carter was abducted as a child and has to go live with her biological family where everything's different. This eventually led into secrets being exposed on why Carter's kidnapper took her away from her family and what was going on with the biological parents.

The final episode consisted of Carter's friend Max being the one who killed Jared. In a report from TV Insider, Alex Saxon (Max) dished on how this would've affected his character had the show been renewed for a third season.

"I think there's a lot to be explored about what would happen if Max went to jail and went where his dad has spent much of Max's life; how he would regress and how he would change," Saxon said. "I'd like to think part of why Max is so empathetic to everybody around him and conscious of taking care of people and not hurting anybody is because he knows the evil, the darkness, that's out there."
