After his heroic attempt to rescue Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott)and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) when Ian (Ray Wise) held them captive, his family decided he had suffered enough for his crimes, and now, Victor's (Eric Braden) appeal trial will begin on The Young and the Restless.

Despite their all turning on him during his initial trial for kidnapping Jack (Peter Bergmann) and hiring Marco Anicelli to pose as him to Phyllis, Nikki, Victoria (Amelia Heinle), Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Abby (Melissa Ordway) have all decided to change their statements to the court and claim that they had been trying to get revenge on him when they initially testified. Now, the group is gathered at the courthouse with Victor, and hoping that things will prove to work in their favor once again, with Victor getting an early release from jail.

"Maybe this time, the outcome will be different," Victor muses to his family in a preview clip for the Friday, July 22 episode.

However, all hopes of the appeal could fly right out the window if Phyllis has her way. She was appalled when the Newmans all approached her and asked if she'd consider changing her statement about the crimes Victor committed against her. Now, she wants to be assured that Victor will never get out of prison, especially early, and will inform Jack of her plans to storm into the courtroom and make sure it doesn't happen.

"I'm with you, no matter what," Jack says to her in the clip.

"Even if I go to that courthouse and crucify Victor?" She asks.

Jack will discourage her from doing anything of the sort however, causing the married couple to start arguing again as they determine the right move for them to make. And though he thinks it's the wrong move, Phyllis will decide to head to the courthouse anyway, so she can get her say when it comes to Victor's fate.

The Young and the Restless airs Monday-Friday at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
