The evidence that could be used to free him from jail for a crime he didn't commit has finally emerged, but Adam's (Justin Hartley) chances of getting out of prison may be more slim than ever before now on The Young and the Restless.

After going on a hunger strike and refusing to eat food for days, Adam began to get delirious and was having hallucinations, specifically ones where the guard who was trying to encourage him to eat and letting him know Chelsea (Melissa Clare Egan) was there with good news for him was actually Victor (Eric Braden) taunting him about his beng there while everyone else moved on without him. Because of the hallucinations, Adam attacked the guard, believing he was Victor, and tried to kill him.

Now, he will be tased and restrained by others and sent to the infirmary. Unfortunately, when he comes to and learns from Michael (Christian LeBlanc) about his freedom finally being granted, he will also be given a major setback, as he will be informed that his attack on the guard counts as assault, and he could now be looking at a sentence of 6-10 years, and no way of potentially getting out of it this time.

Meanwhile, the truth about the diary pages being found and Adam actually being innocent is quickly spreading through Genoa City, and Nick (Joshua Morrow), who initially brought suspicion on his brother because of the pages in Sage's diary which hinted he had murdered Constance, will be brought it to be shown the proof that it was a set up. And when Dylan (Steve Burton) and Paul (Doug Davidson) let him know that they believe Victor did set Adam up, it will infuriate Nick.

"The woman who's room we found the pages in, Bethany Bryant, is connected to Victor," Dylan tells Nick in a preview clip for the Friday, August 19 episode.

Now, Nick will realize he fell for another one of his father's sick schemes, and will confront him about what he's done.

The Young and the Restless airs Monday-Friday at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
