The latest episode of the show's second season, called "Blue Exorcist: Kyoto Saga," highlights the culmination of the all the things Rin had to go through and finally shows him in his full power.
The past few episodes, including the first season of "Blue Exorcist," were likely created to lead up to this point where Rin had to face the Impure King. The main protagonist, who is also the son of Satan, has finally learned to control his flames and uses it and the Koma sword to defeat the massive demon.
According to a report from Travelers Today, the character has gone through a lot in terms of development and fans are likely quite happy with how everything has turned out so far. Rin has finally gained the confidence to accept who he is, which in turn allows him to fully control his own powers.
The latest "Blue Exorcist" episode titled "Shine Bright as the Sun," which is now available on Crunchy Roll featured a lot of emotional moments as the barrier finally collapsed and miasma had spread throughout the city. The Impure King proved to be a formidable opponent and even Rin had struggled to do any damage to him. However, with Ucchusma's help, Rin was finally able to unleash his flames without the threat of incinerating everyone around him.
After having defeated the Impure King and realizing his potential, "Blue Exorcist" season 2 episode 12 is expected to wrap things up as the characters recover from everything that has happened so far. Meanwhile, Rin apparently has something to say to his brother, but he looks to be unsure about telling him the thing he has been holding back. The final episode of "Blue Exorcist" season 2, "Candid and Open," is set to be released this week, on March 24.
