They're getting closer to uncovering the truth about his being the one who nearly killed the woman he later wound up marrying, and Jason (Billy Miller) and Sam (Kelly Monaco) could get even closer to the truth when Nikolas (Tyler Christopher) tells them something shocking and unexpected on General Hospital.

After visiting Shawn (Sean Blakemore) at Pentonville, they realized they weren't the only ones who were thinking there had been two shooters the night Hayden/Rachel (Rebecca Budig) was shot, and now, they will go to Nikolas with the information they've picked up. However, when Nikolas potentially lets them know that he won't actually be divorcing Hayden despite now knowing the truth about her identity as Rachel Berlin, and admits that she's blackmailing him to stay in the marriage, they could realize they're even closer to the truth then they were before.

"I'm sorry," Sam says to Nikolas in a preview clip for the Tuesday, April 5 episode.

"Are you?" Nikolas asks.

As it turns out, Hayden does have something solid she can use against Nikolas which will force him to stay with her as long as she wants him to. Back when she first moved into Wyndemere, she overheard a conversation he had with Laura (Genie Frances), where he confessed to having hired a hitman to kill her. Since then, she hired Curtis (Donnell Turner) to dig up the proof of what he had done, in case she ever needed to use it. And now that she has the proof, there isn't anything Nikolas can do to keep her from successfully getting what she wants.

However, Curtis will start expressing concern over the dangerous game Hayden is now trying to play with her husband, especially when he realizes her motivations may not just be because of the feelings she swears she has developed for Nikolas—and could instead also stem from a new scam she is trying to run in order to get rich quick.

"So you're willing to risk your life just to put a few bucks in your pocket?" He asks in the clip.

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
