He had made a promise to her that he was done with the mob for good and would never get sucked back into that world, putting her or any of the children they each have in danger ever again, but Julian (William DeVry) is officially going behind Alexis's (Nancy Lee Grahn) back and betraying her trust in him on General Hospital.

He did do as she asked finally after so many times of their relationship going back and forth due to his involvement in the mob, and had every intention of keeping it so he wouldn't be involved anymore. Unfortunately, after Ava (Maura West) started receiving threats from their associates because they all believed she had flipped and cooperated with Paul (Richard Burgi) in the gun bust, he was forced to step in to protect her and become the head of the Jerome organization once again.

However, his involvement was initially just in a strict figurehead role, and didn't require him ordering any sort of hits anymore. But now, after a witness stepped forward and claimed to have seen Carlos (Jeffrey Vincent Parise) kill Duke, which threatens his ability to walk free and could force him to flip on Julian and turn him in for ordering the hit, Julian is not being forced to takes drastic action.

After Ava encourages him to make sure Carlos is the one who is taken out, Julian takes matters into his own hands and calls Hammer--ordering him to take care of the witness. And with that order, Julian can truly and officially consider himself a mobster once again.

However, if Alexis becomes suspicious of things, it could destroy the couple's marriage and truly keep them from repairing their relationship once more in the future. Alexis was involved in the case as Carlos's lawyer, something she only agreed to at Julian's urging, and if she learns he commits an illegal activity again to try and save himself, she could decide she's done with him for good as a result.
